The best after shave balms...

If I've had a rough shave and have a few tender spots no other post shave product comes close to BBA aftershave balm. It's the best one I've come across to calm the skin. Thankfully the rough shaves are few and far between so I don't tend to use it that often but it's good to have on hand.

I prefer to use aftershave splashes but if I use a balm it's Myrsol Emulsion. It's light and absorbs into the skin quickly. The face feel is excellent too.

I do have balms by Nivea and Dove which are both good but not in the same league a the two previously mentioned.

I'm yet to try any Bart's products but will do in the future.

I'm a sucker for Art Of Shaving balms - light and non-greasy. The scents are pleasant rather than amazing, but always nice to slap on. I also used to like Weleda which was lemon and menthol. Will have to give it another go sometime!

I've only tried two of that list. The kiehl's gel is ok but expensive for what it is. Plain old aloe gets you the same results for much less outlay. Don't care for the Hawkins and Brimble one at all - it is quite greasy I think. I normally use Trumpers skin food which works well enough.

Not tried any of those.

I've tried stuff from the bottom to the... well, middling bracket if you count Creed, which skews it somewhat.

There are differences (usually the fragrance), but none of the pricier options have done an obviously better job IMO.

L'Oréal Hydro sensitive birch sap balm is very good. Lovely and light, easily absorbed. I buy in bulk when it's in offer and use it in place of Nivea Sensitive
