The worst DE razor

I would grow a beard if that was the only razor to be had, the clue I think was in the price but saying that even for a pound it should be fit for purpose. :) P.

How do you align a blade in a three piece razor ?, take razor apart, put new blade in, reassemble razor and tighten up....where is any adjustment ?

There is always some amount of movement between the cap, the baseplate, and the blade. The crappier the razor, the more play you're likely to find. All blades are not the same either, some are sloppy, and some have tight tolerances, such as Feathers. With the head up, and the razor not all the way tight, use the tabs to manually adjust the alignment before snugging the handle down.

I guess you've never had a Gillette OLD, or a Fatip, or a Pearl, or any three pin, three piece razor, it's a requirement on all of them.

Well I had a look, the blade aligns fine, never had a problem about that, it was just the blade gap was huge by my other razors standards. Anyway for my own interest I did what Tony said but the handle stops well before any semblance of tightening onto the blade, I reckon a small washer or two will remedy this and I will try tomorrow, if it feels safe I will try a shave. I've enjoyed this thread for the info...you learn something everyday right enough.
