Tour de France 2016

Mountain stages are crazy...very narrow..crowd running in front of vehicles and riders. Dont know why Froome was being booed. Fair outcome.

Cavendish does it again!

Brilliant 4th win from Cav, sour grapes & histrionics from Kittel whose challenge fizzled out before Cav passed him.

Another mountain stage tomorrow, hope we won't see a repeat of the crowd lunacy of a few days ago - but you know we will. The race organisers really need to get a grip for rider safety, rather than give the Gallic shrug we saw in response last time.

Chris

Just watching tonights highlights: Silly question.....with the individual time trials - do all riders from all teams take part? Or is it just the main cyclists from the teams?

My understanding is that all the riders take part.

From watching a bit of the live coverage, I understand that (on this mountain time trial stage) only the top riders used their specialist time trial bikes. At least some of the Sky riders were using their 'normal' (!) road bikes. The logic being that their performances in the individual time trial were of little consequence, so why not ride their most comfortable machines and save themselves for the last couple of rides to come protecting Froome?

Cheers for that - logistically, would love to know how they have support vehicles for all 9 riders. Assume that the riders from different teams are spaced in such a way that the cars can get back round.

Chris Froome's performance, and that of Team Sky, in this Tour has been outstanding. Strength in depth, albeit multinational.

We're going to Paris for the weekend to watch the TdF finish. Should be exciting, even with Cav's departure, hopefully Chris Froome will retain the yellow jersey and Adam Yates the white jersey.

The UK is producing a wealth of cycling talent lately, it bodes well for the Rio Olympics and beyond.

Chris

A good days racing

Pleased for Thomas he deserved it.

If that TT was a tough longer and drier those GC lads would be in a bit of bother
