Type of razor?

Please don’t despair, but I use a branded cartridge 2 blade razor.
The reason being is that I have severe arthritis which often causes restricted movement and sometimes hand spasms.
At least I get a reasonably good shave with this set up in a safe manner. I have used a similar type blade for over 40 years now!

I would however like to change to a razor blade system for various reasons; Enconomy, quality of shave, less wastage, etc.
Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced razor and blades that might suit my purpose, bearing in mind the health problem?

I am happy enough with my small collection of Creams, Balms, brushes and aftershave. It is just the actual razor I would appreciate advice about.
Thank you
Paul

I actually have a couple which I bought off an auction site.
Will take a few photos and put them on, see if they are the type you are suggesting.
One thing I did recall with them is how small the whole razor was!
Thank you for the advice.

My father-in-law has severe arthritis and tends use disposables. However he does like to use a Timor I have in the cabinet and finds it easy to handle and very mild which suits him. More so he is also on warfarin.

Not expensive and light enough to be an easy replacement for disposables.

I was travelling the other week in the US without a razor. I picked up a Van Der Hagen in a Walgreens. It's a butterfly opener which makes it much easier to change blades if you have restricted dexterity. It also has a long handle with a nice grip pattern - easier to grip when you are shaving. Finally I found it quite mild and forgiving which is useful if you are having trouble with angle precision.

It looks just like the Weishi long handle butterfly razors listed on Amazon. Someone might confirm they are the same razors rebranded. The Weishi on Amazon is $10 cheaper.

The other razor I would recommend is a Feather Popular, also inexpensive and a butterfly opener.

If you are UK not stateside then both the Weishi and the Popular are on Amazon UK as well.

It is the same razor, Weishi also makes the Micro Touch, which is the regular length version. I have one of those, and it is a mild easy to use razor. Almost as good as a Gillette Flare Tip Super Speed, which is the genesis of the design,... you can find those online for the same money or less, and they are all brass!
