What are you listening to?

So this happened last night. @Rob998

Hope you had a great night Rob, I couldn't get a legit ticket at all :(. Looks like you had a great spec.

Slightly connected, I read somewhere (probably PFM, or AA), that Kylie Minogue is actually older than Jacob Rees-Mogg, which actually stunned me for a minute, but it's true! Mind you, he's been middle-aged since he was born, so it's not surprising it came as a shock.

Yeah had a brilliant night. Had a great view, we were was about 15 foot away from him.

The Kylie track went down a storm. Straight afterwards someone shouted out for This Charming Man. He joked "Ah I don't remember how it goes" ....then played the opening bars and the everyone went mental!

I went with a mate would hadn't seen him before but was a big Smiths fan. He was surprised and amazed how many Smiths tracks he played.

Shame you couldn't get a ticket. Hopefully you'll have better luck next time.

One of my fave bands of the 90s, The Afghan Whigs. Soul-infused grunge. They released a string of great albums from 'Congregation' in 1992 to '1965' in 1998 before splitting up (they've since reformed & done 2 more albums). They do some superb soul covers too. Greg Dulli is a great songwriter and and his albums with The Twilight Singers were superb too. Check out this majestic arrangement of their classic 'When We Two Parted', it really is something else

This 4 disc Abbey Road half speed re-master is utterly awesome.

It has the album release mix, the original Detroit Mix, live cuts and single releases.

For me the stand out disc is the Detroit Mix, which was the original version of the album, before it was smoothed out for release. It has so much energy, and Marvin singing duets with himself throughout is simply spine chilling.

Plus, the production and mastering on this release is just bloody sublime. Just "Wow!!!!"
