I watched a documentary about Billy on BBC the other night (second part next week) although he has Parkinsons He is still sharp and funny.
I always thought he was a brilliant comedian and storyteller, and still is :)

His really old stuff holds great memories for me. I remember going to visit my Aunt in Glasgow when I was but a wee nipper, and his LPs would always get played. My dad and mum would end up rolling about the floor with laughter (helped with a good few halves). My Aunt, God rest her soul, knew him so there was always good stories to go along with his songs and jokes.

His early stuff was unbelievably crude, straight from the shipbuilders yards, but can he tell a story. He could sell sand to the Arabs!

His World Tour of Scotland series was fantastic too. Got my old fella the DVD (or VHS?) collection and we got thoroughly p*ssed whenever we watched it.

Hope you all have a great New Year (and Hogmanay!).

Auld Lang Syne!

I still have a few of his LPs. I might dig them out for a spin tonight.
And a happy new year to you all. Cheers.:)

Edit: have to add. Prescription windscreen, anyone. :):);)

I'll be interested to hear what you think. I've just bought Murakami's most recent offering, ‘Killing Commendatore'.
Enjoying it so far. It's written in alternating chapters, one for each of the two main characters, if that makes sense. Gives it a bit of a cliffhanger edge sometimes.
