What is (was) your best razor - actually providing your best shave?

Vile.
I wouldn't give my razor to anyone who thinks that black on brown is a good colour combination for a web page.
I have to almost agree with Paul - the 1912 is one of the best razors I know (but not the best - that's the Eversharp Fashion Razor).
The way those tiny springs work with each other is most satisfying.
GEM stainless blades and bicycle inner tube shim for me.

DE razors? Merkur 45.

If we are talking DE here (which I presume the case) then it has to be the Ikon standard SB with a Polsilver Lodz. Once mastered it is just so efficient and I haven't met anything so far which gets closer. I'll usually have regrowth overnight but with the Ikon my face feels much the same as when last used.

Otherwise I'd be happy to follow FrankieG and go with the Colonial General as an everyday shaving tool.

Until very recently I would have said my Rockwell 6C paired with an Astra SP on plate 3 or 4 was my favourite razor in terms of comfort and efficiency, but, I've been leaning towards the Ikon 102 / Silver Blue more of late.

I've been using a rotation of just 3 razors, each of which I could be happy with as the only one.

ATT Windsor MMH1
Timeless 95 SS SB
RR GC 84

If I had to pick just one, it would probably be the ATT.

I've been enjoying my Rockwell 6C on R4, but I've always liked my cheap bronze Yintal with the solid brass handle. It's nicely efficient and when I tried a Nacet it gave me a very good shave. Less than £10 from AliExpress and remarkably well made. Best bargain I'm aware of.

English flat bottom tech with astra sp blades. Its such a great shave that i don't have to even think about it. like a wee sports car on my fizzog. :)
I have other razors but i just seem to gravitate towards the tech, and if it was all that existed i would be happy

Probably my best, in terms of a combination of ease and smooth result, and with the vintage Light Brigade and Personna 74 blades I use, is the Paradigm Titanium II. The Wolfman SB gives the same result but requires slightly more care. The Feather and Webers are just as easy, but they don't give quite the same smoothness at the end.
