What made your day a crap one??

How about this puzzle.

My Mondeo has keyless entry and start.

Tried opening my car door with my keyfob to find that it didn't.
Tried the spare and that didn't work either.

Thinking the keyfob battery was flat I replaced it. Still no joy.

I confirmed the battery was okay by putting it into the Mrs keyfob in her company car.

Thinking now that the cars battery is flat, or that the programming on the fob is lost due it's flat battery (unlikely)

Here's the kicker. Inside the keyfob there should be an emergency blade key to open the door. Both my fobs are empty.

My AA cover I got free with my last service ran out at the end of Feb.

I've an auto locksmith coming tomorrow. The only good news is that he didn't turn up as promised today so they offered to cut me a blade for free.

Also found that the parcel of T&H preshave oil I had packed last week for Bechet had leaked over the weekend. I only noticed when I got it out for posting today.

Where was it serviced?? If it was done correctly they should have put new batteries in and may have removed the blades to do it and may still have them

To be honest I've had the car for over 5 years and it never had the blades in it. I found this out by accident a few years after I bought it from a car supermarket.

The car was serviced at a main dealer. I did have the MOT done locally recently as well. I think that the car battery may be flat as I don't use it much now as I walk to work. Weekends we may use mine or the wife's car. I don't mind using hers as it's a company car and its their wear and tear.

I don't think I've left any lights on as I keep it on the auto setting ie they come on when it's dark. Don't think I've touched the internal light either.

I guess being sat outside for a while and then when used only short journeys hasn't helped. Guess I will know more tomorrow. I'm not a petrol head at all and hate spending money on cars :(

If it is the battery do yourself a favour and buy a genuine ford one they have a smart charge system and the chemical make up of the battery is different. If you go don't accept the first price ask for discount and try more than one dealer

Sunday 27/03/2016, arrived at Fuerteventura airport at about 12.30 about 3 hours before my departure time at 15.25, all good check in opens early and we are close to the front of the queue, go through security without issue, everything is hunky dory.
Spend the next hour and a half picking up my quota of 2 litres of Stolichnaya, some Golden virginia for a friend, sat in a comfy chair with an espresso for me and a cappuccino for the nicely tanned Mrs.
Gate opens on time and the rabble start to board, looks like we may get airborne ahead of time, as happens sometimes from Fuerte.
Its about 80% of the way through the process that I notice a lady has been taken unwell and is seated on the floor being fanned and comforted by a family member and a couple of official looking types, oh oh I think this might be a delay......
Little did I realize that this was just the beginning, so after sitting and waiting for the lady to feel better for the best part of 30mins, she finally boards the plane and we all give a sigh of relief, we are only 10mins behind time.

2mins later........and the witch decides she is unable to travel and needs paramedics to assist her exit..... REALLY !!??.

An hour later we are in the air.. Just !, so pretty much and hour and 40 mins behind schedule.

We manage to recover 20mins on the journey arriving safely at Gatwick, in fairly windy conditions at about 21.10, We arrived at the baggage carousel in about 15 mins, unfortunately it took our bags another hour, so all in all a pretty piss poor end to a fairly below par holiday, all topped off with a 55min drive home in the pouring rain.

Fucking holidays .... why do I bother ?, answers on a post card please.

It's gets worse -

As a treat for getting a new job, I bought myself a new tablet. Which is being delivered tomorrow.

Guess where..

Yep at my old work place.

And...

As I had only been there a few weeks, I hadn't accrued holiday. So I couldn't go on our usual easter break. So my wife is going on hols with my MIL and the kids.

They fly out to Dubai on Friday.

Hope that it is the battery instead of the transponder (?) that's knackered. Replacing that is far more expensive.

Life is just a series of peaks and troughs, and you don't whether you're in a trough until you're climbing out, or on a peak until you're coming down.

And that's it, you know, you never know what's round the corner. But it's all good.

"If you want the rainbow you've got to put up with the rain". Do you know which "philosopher" said that? Dolly Parton. And people say she's just a big pair of tits.
