What made your day a crap one??

Thanks Johnny. Means a lot! It's strange though as it's only presented itself a handful of times but anything more than thrice and we said let's get her checked out. It sounds as though surgery is best way to go and enforced rest would be a must considering it's affecting both knees currently (right more than left). I'll, of course, keep y'all posted! Could be a tough couple of months towards the end of the year but ultimately the decision lies with what's best for little Daisy! :)
Whishing you and Daisy all the best, I'm sure it will be a good outcome and once it's done she should be sorted for good. A picture of her would be great to see :) P.

Finding out that the wretched local ice-cream van which I thought had packed in for the year, has not. Cue a strangulated version of the Match of the Day theme at ear-splitting volume every couple of minutes for half an hour as it circles looking for children to prey on.

Boss wants me to travel an extra 40+ miles each way per day, 4 days a week for the same money to fill a role on top of my already hectic schedule. Also, [they] won't put me on a course which I've been requesting for the last year, yet put someone else on it without them asking. Little things.

I was in the same situation a few years ago.
I was expected to travel 130 miles each way one day a week, for the same pay.
Idiot of a manager tried to tell me I needed to be there for 9 and stay until 5:30 as I usually did at my normal place of work.

I refused and said I will be leaving home at my usual time and I will he leaving the office so I could get home at my usual time.

You have to realise that there are fuckwits in charge that really don't care about their staff. They are happy to make demands but refuse to engage you when you want something. Unless leaving is an option, you will just have to ride it out.

Cheers, Kul. In a cynical way it's refreshing that there's more than one person who's been in this situation. Absolutely, I get the fact I'm just a number of a piece of paper but no one (myself included) seems to understand why this is the course of action. I do my tasks within allotted times, with the exception of one large ongoing task which I've forewarned will take 4+ months regarding the scale of it. When asked about it today, I replied 'ongoing' to which I had the response 'I thought it was done'. Unfortunately, it's not my fault if people can't understand the scale of a chemists' job at times!

Supervisors can be so strange Benz. I recall being told to 'phone a Superintendent at home many years ago. He said, " You've always worked in the Traffic in Glasgow, haven't you Johnny. " . Then. " Have you ever worked in Dumbarton ?". On my replying yes and no respectively he advised me to take up duty on night shift on Hogmanay that weekend, wished me goodnight and hung up. I doubt he even thought there was anything unusual in his chat or that it could possibly cause me any difficulty. Supervisors really can be so strange.

Worse still JohnnyO, he's the managing director, rather than a supervisor. My factory manager (whom I report to) has supposedly had a substantial pay-rise while ultimately doing less work and taking on/enforcing less responsibility than I do/have. I would have, at the very least, liked to have been involved in the discussions leading up to my apparent change of role considering it means I can't check on the dog during my lunch break with the additional travel time. Staff are spread too thinly as it is and there have been a number of job vacancies this year as a result with maybe a couple more in the near future (excluding myself).

Not a lot of appreciation travelling in your direction Benz, which is always a real source of frustration.

That is all most people want, some appreciation and some consideration . It makes for a better workplace, a happy worker is a productive worker, so why don't these bosses see this!
I do feel for all unappreciated workers, it ain't right, it ain't fair and it ain't proper!
Rant over!

Just over six months playing indoor short mat bowls and made the local B - Team.
We where supposed to play a Wexford B - Team in the league but their A - Team turned up instead.
So we played a friendly against them and Beat them 25 - 18.
Put a smile on my face :):D:)
