What made your day a good one

Absolutely nothing apart from being alive.
High fever, things coming out of a number of orifices. It's 2pm now and I am for the first time today able to walk to the kitchen.
I'm guessing the flu. Will rub some dirt on it and hopefully I'll be back on my feet tomorrow.

Being told I will probably spend most of March working 4 on, 4 off doing some lean event bollocks for another section.

This may or may not be sarcasm, I'm still weighing up the pro's and con's:oops:
I know you probably have to work longer hours on a 4+4 pattern Mick - but the upside is that in any 13 week period you work on 45/46 days compared to 65 on a conventional 5 day week. I think that sounds pretty good.

Agreed, as a generally 5 (9 hour) days on 2 off type of guy, there is always an attraction towards a system of longer hours - but fewer days. As it is only going to be for a month, it should make a bit of a change, although my question of whether I will be on days or nights, has yet to be answered......

A bag full of shaving related crap arrived from outside the EU, some really cool stuff.

After dropping his price by £200, then £100 and then £50 and then another £50, I shook his hand and said, "Yes, please". He beat the best price I could find elsewhere and stole the deal. My new stairlift has begun and the roof postponed even further.

New stairlift Carl, you really do spoil that cat, but I thought you were only living downstairs due to the open plan aspect of the top floor:rolleyes:

For me at the minute it's co codamol and tramadol. now into the 6th month of an ulcerated ankle wound after falling through a scaffold(my own job so no compo).

I'm roofless, not ceiling-less! A thick layer of shopping bags over the thick layer of insulation over the joists keeps my bedroom dark enough to sleep - not that we see much moon these days.

I'm very sorry to read of your six months, mbnu54 and both very happy and sad for your four stones, nick_s - happy for you and sad for me. Envious! I dunno what that is in kilos but it sounds about right for what I have to lose. Oh woe! The agony of doing it! 25.45kg - another 10kg for me. Ahhh! 30kg will do!

I've now officially lost over 4 stone since May. Very happy indeed.

Well done, Nick ......... It took me all of eighteen months or so, but I finally lost the last of six stone in November last year ...... Hitting my target weight of 12st 10lb ....... and I haven't looked back.

Since then, I've been playing footie and training again ........ seeing as it was the weight that had stopped me in the first place. Makes a huge difference losing that much beef.

I even got away with stretch marks :D

The old bulldog managed her full circuit of the park today without hardly stopping & she's had her pre op inspection for minor surgery on the 25th to remove a shed load of the fleshy growths and warts in the mouth to which the breed are so prone. Whilst she's in the team reckon she's a good case for harvesting some blood & fat for stem cell treatment should X rays reveal the degree of joint wear and tear suspected.

I've just got back yesterday from uni yesterday, having spent 2 weeks doing around 10 hours studying each day, for 2 exams, its been busy couple of weeks
Then arriving home to my pregnant wife and noticing her bump is a little bigger. Also the dog went crazy when I walked into the front door, in a good way mind.

My roof not ripping off in a storm!
This time last year I was battling with the elements and losing badly. The storms ripped half of my garage roof off and deposited it on my house roof, which subsequently buckled under the pressure. I was out of my house for weeks and lost quite a few belongings. The insurance helped but I wasn't able to recover it all, making 2015 a very difficult year! It's all uphill from then so thinking about where I could be, makes today much better!
