What Watch Are You Wearing Today?

No, but you can get a version which does automatically set time and date from a radio signal
Yes thats the one I'm thinking of a friend has the time signal model and flew to Denver a few months ago and expected it to change time zone. He was a bit miffed when it didnt especially as he visited Fort Collins from whence the US time signal is transmitted.

Yes, but that is not the original DW-5600E, which remains exactly as it was originally designed/produced, as far as I am aware: watch, date, timer, stop and back light; simplicity, stylish and tough.

I think its the GW 5600 which are radio controlled. The DW 5600 variants are the original module.

The letter after the number is simply the intended market, so mine has E, denoting its a European model.

Nice to see a Stowa watch appearing on here. Stowa and Laco do a lot of replicas of wartime watches but I think Stowa have the better reputation for reliability. Stowa Baumuster B.

Gorgeous watch - I always wanted one of these - much in the same vein - I.

I changed the text of my previous post as they arent replica watches but reissues as Stowa, Laco and a few other started making this type of watch for the Luftwaffe in the thirties. I'd love to see the 55mm version!
Another watch with wartime ancestry is the Panerai early versions of which were issued to various branches of the Italian services. This is a much later GMT/Alarm model.

Yet another thread I've only just discovered.
I've been a watch fan historically but find myself wearing one less and less...being retired does that to some of us!
I tend to wear one of 4 at different times.

If I hardly want to notice that I'm wearing a watch then I'll go for this...Boccia Titanium. Cheap, very light and very thin and a nice clear dial...something I like in a watch.

If I'm feeling a little more adventurous, maybe even a little more steampunk, I wear this one...my Zeppelin chronograph. I use a Cabot watch company Aviator strap on it, as I reckon it looks 'right'...

If I just want something to clip on fast and that I can trust, and I don't keep in 'sleep mode' to save battery power, then I go for my trusty retro Casio Wave Ceptor...

But my favourite watch is the one I wear when I go hiking or wild camping...it's my favourite all time watch...the proper Cabot Watch Company G10. I love its simplicity, and the fact that I can put new batteries in the small hatch on the back and I can get the batteries easily. Again, I like the CWC Aviator strap on this...just like the way they are fitted and their general style...

So that's it for me in this thread...If i went through some of the watches I've owned in the past, then time itself would run out!

Cheers all(y)

An interesting group Greybeard what year is the Casio?
It's pretty new...I bought it a couple of years ago to replace the previous one I'd had for almost 10 years...slightly different model. And, guess what? I forgot about these other 2 Casios I have. A pretty old ProTrek I think it's called and a titanium analogue Wave Ceptor. I keep them in a windowsill where they are permanently charging from the sunlight. The waveceptor used to be my main work watch and the triple sensor was my primary hiking watch. Still going strong after years!

Btw...the Waveceptor titanium looks quite bulky and heavy, but it really is incredibly light...I might have to start wearing it again! (Er...yes the triple sensor is titanium as well:rolleyes:)
