What's your best budget shave cream?

It may not be budget but the price per shave on XPec makes it somewhat of a bargain, comparable with budget creams. I certainly haven't come across a bargain cream that will give me the post shave feel of something like XPec.
Please don't go on about it or I will buy that as well, very tempting

I recently binned all my creams..The only cream that I kept was WARS Classic Shaving Cream form Poland..I have never came across any Cream that's as Slick as this stuff and the post shave is Amazing..I woudnt touch anything that's on the Brit Shelves..

First of all, the XPEC Gordy bought was a great deal and I believe was the older version which is tough to find. Paul is selling the newer stuff at a very good price but no idea how it performs. I agree the original formula is better than any bargain cream I have ever tried, and at least as good if not better than any other expensive product too.

Billy, Wars is just average in my book. Tried it years ago and nothing special performance and scent. It's still available some places I believe online.

Is KMF a brushless cream?
To expand on this answer:
Works well for me on either face ir bowl lathering, hiwever in a push I'd happily just work it into my face with my hands. Really is a very forgiving cream however it's approached.

It doesn't make a traditional lather as most people think of it. You'll never get a Santa Claus face with it, but it does lather. And, like JohnnyO said, it's very forgiving. Add a bunch of water, lather it like you hate it, and when you pull the brush away from your face, you'll have droopy, wet, meringue-like spikes everywhere. It will be one of the slickest creams you've ever used.
After reading good things about Kiss My Face in different threads I just ordered two bottles - unscented and I think it was lime - to try.
Those are the two I use on a regular basis. The Lime by itself (or with Trumper's Lime soap. Love the scent, but it really is an underwhelming performer of a shave soap) and the Unscented with any shave soap that needs 'help.'
...and by 'help' I'm referring to operator error.
Too much water, too little water, not enough soap- a little squirt of KmF covers a multitude of sins. :)

I recently discovered Dove Hydrate+ cream at Superdrug. It's usually £3, but has been at £1.49 for a while.

Not as exotic a scent as many pricier options, but I've not found a cream (budget or otherwise) that outperforms it. Haven't tried KMF yet though.

Arko Shave Creams do the job and can be had for <£3 on the 'zon

Can't get it any more but Groomed Shave Cream (in the tub) was on a par with T&H No. 10, but at £3 a pot

I'm a fan of Maca Root too (I paid about £3.30 delivered for my tube)

Nivea did the job too (and at €1.89)

Got some Palmolive to try, which was <£2

You have to go a long way to beat Proraso at that price though

Got my bottles of Kiss My Face. First try: bowl lathering with boar brush was a total failure - looking pretty good in bowl but when applying to wet face it turned into soapy water - and looking at brush for more lather, nope all gone. Second try can only be described as Wow!: face lathering with synthetic brush - must have hit the sweet spot - thick - slick lather - plenty of it.

The trick to using KmF with boar is to squeeze the brush nearly dry after soaking it. Shaking it out isn't quite enough.
