Can you name anything that youngsters of today won't know?

Was smoking on aeroplanes ever a thing? ...It must have been :D

Far as I recall smoking on UK flights in the late 1980s/ early 90 s was confined to the rear of the passenger cabin. Used to be a fairly constant trek of people trudging to the rear for a cigarette if they hadn't managed to get a seat in the last 6 or 8 rows.

Conversely, coming home from the pub with sore eyes and throat from the smoke, then having to put your clothes on to wash and have a shower before going to bed.
True, but no one forced you to go into a pub where customers smoked. There must have been a pub run by Christian Scientists, or the Mormons, you could have frequented.
