Have you tried to shim your Tech? This may give you the extra bite that you are looking for. P.I have a 1940s Tech it's a great razor but I often wonder if there is a slightly more aggressive razor out there.
I would prefer a vintage razor please, TTO or 3 piece is fine.
Any recommendations?
Gillette New.
This. However, if you're new at this Dave you need to perhaps hone your technique before throwing money at a bevy of razors which so many fall prey to. Word to the wise.
If you've not already, try a Feather blade in the Tech... Completely transforms it.
Although you have said you don't want to try a zamac razor the Edwin Jagger DE89 is slightly more aggressive than the tech. I've had one for many years with no issues and use it regularly. Another option may be to look at Rockwell with the adjustable plates although this isn't vintage.
I must admit I did think about an EJ but am pretty certain it's vintage for me.
The Rockwell seems to be very good by the reviews I have read but the stainless steel version is more than I would want to pay.
I asked myself this just over a year ago when I decided DE shaving would save me a fortune
Gillette FatBoy was my next razor purchase, love it.
I had a replated one cost ££ and I didn't like it
OMG that really surprises me Dave. What about a vintage SE razor like a Schick?
I have been looking at them, very nice but not seen one for sale in the UK, so might have to stump up for one from USA.
This razor lark is quite involved, my Mrs thinks I am mad
Put a wanted thread up on here, I'm sure someone will have one they would sell. They crop up every now & then on eBay. Not had mine long but love it, along with the Supply SE (not vintage)
