Now, this might be a bit off topic, but I find myself losing interest in football in general. I have been a long time FC Bayern fan, a season ticket holder and member, and I never missed a game, be it in the Allianz Arena or on TV, but I find the ever increasing amount of acting, diving and cheating in soccer outright disgusting.
Also, when I look at our national team and their recent failures...all these young kids, they don't care for the jersey and the crest they're wearing. All that's important to them is tattoos, the Gucci clothes, their hair and all the 500.000 € cars at their 10 Mio. € villas. And the coach is oozing with arrogance. When I read that Boateng has his personal hairdresser flown in before a match, I am in utter disbelief. These kids have lost all ties to normal life.
Zipped into a Champions League match yesterday, right in time to see a defender go for a tackle, and the forward just took of like a plane, screaming and rolled around like he was dying, although he wasn't even touched by the defender. The ref sent the guy off with a red card, and as soon as he was leaving the pitch, the other one was miraculously healed. I do not know any other sport where cheating and acting is so blatantly obvious as in soccer, and that is why eventually I'll turn my back on them completely.
Having family in the US, I am quite a bit into US sports, and be it in the NHL, NFL or MLB, there are guys playing hurt everywhere, even with broken bones, or going back into the game after just having had their teeth knocked out...and in soccer a guy is out for weeks with a strained muscle?? Come on!! Or all the crying, when there are two games a week? Look at the NHL or NBA you whimps, they play every 2nd night, with week-long road trips...
Sorry, if this has gotten out of hand a little, but it's making me mad
