Why this design, fourth pin is a mystery to me...

I am assuming that pin doesn't go all the way through.
I have never seen that before or indeed want to see it again.

No Mystery...Its Just Adds Strength to the Scales...There Will be a Spacer or Shim Inside...Seen a Few Like that...

Yup, managed to track down the owner of the razor: These are short pins fastened to brass shims on the inside of scales
