Synthetic ?

I have been a confirmed synthetic brush user for at least five years starting a few generations back. I think they are simply "the answer". Anytime I even think about even using a natural hair brush I break out the ol' "marble polisher" Zenith boar I have. I gave up trying to break it in. Tried every shortcut method on the Internet and it's still harder than a whore's heart.

You want to try a Shavemac D01 two band, it's like lathering your face with a pineapple.

I have a few synths inc larger 26 & 28 mm lather machines but honestly the Fine Stout 24mm "Angel Hair" is a fantastic little brush. (I mostly face lather) Great for travel too. I've just got a Razorock Snowman which could be a real contender and perhaps a better size for bowl lathering but the Fine 24 is a beauty. Enough backbone and kittenesque with it.

I reckon I've got about 15 brushes - badger, boar, horse. All have their strengths and weaknesses. I'm a Yaqi convert now owning two - the bang for buck is amazing. It's fair to say I'm a convert, albeit I won't abandon the old school.

I only buy synthetic brushes now as they work fine and are hassle free. AFAIA the only source of badger hair is the Chinese fur trade and I'm not convinced their animal welfare standards are something I wish to support.
