What are you listening to?

Brilliant Rob. I listened to over 3 hours of Radiohead b-sides earlier today. The Bends, OK Computer & In Rainbows era b-sides are outstanding. Also I prefer some of the Amnesiac ones to a few of the album tracks

It's funny. I used to class myself as a completist but I can't remember the last single I bought, of any band? I haven't heard many Radiohead B-sides. I'll have to rectify that sharpish.

I know what you mean. I loved buying singles back in the day. That said, with Radiohead I only bought a couple of The Bends era singles at the time. In recent years I've gradually picked up the 2CD Collectors editions of their albums. I know these came out without the band's permission, but still it was the easiest way to get all those songs. No idea if they're on streaming sites, etc. Not sure which eras of the Head you're into, but I think the 14 (yes, 14) Bends era b-sides are great. Check out Talk Show Host, Maquiladora, Killer Cars, The Trickster, Lewis, etc. This website is a
great reference point for their non-LP tracks by era:

Oh and if you haven't already, check out the In Rainbows bonus disc. Some really great songs on there. Enjoy!

I'm into everything from The Bends onwards. I have the limited edition vinyl box set of In Rainbows and love the bonus cd.
I'll definitely have to do some digging as I didn't realize there were that many b-sides knocking around.

Thanks for the info much appreciated.

No problem, hope you enjoy some of them. Just checked and my playlist of ‘Head b-sides has a whopping 56 songs on it, and I'm missing one albums worth at the moment (Hail to the Thief extras). A lot of stuff to enjoy. One of my favourites things when I'm not playing the albums is to mix together the album tracks and b-sides in a playlist and shuffle them. It's fun not knowing which is up next, and thinking about which b-sides would have worked well on the albums

Having just started using Spotify in the car and van, I only have two bands in my likes list.

Show Of Hands - Folk & Roots
Goldie Looking Chain - Welsh chav rap

Watched "They Shall Not Grow Old" (what a brilliant film) t'other night and this 100 year old ear worm has been stuck with me ever since!

May I recommend the Centenary album by Show of Hands.

Poems of the first world war, read by Imelda Staunton & Jim Carter, set to music of the era.
