Barbicide

Pathogens won't live for very long at all on clean metal, so a thorough scrub using a soft bristled brush and dishwahing soap will do the job. Trying to get a razor sterile by boiling etc could damage the finish of some vintage models, and maybe even some new ones, and isn't necessary. In any case, a razor won't stay strictly sterile after being exposed to a domestic environment for a short time.
