I thought that I'd create a thread in memory of the late, great Anita Pointer (formerly of The Pointer Sisters), who died on the 31st of December, aged 74. She will be missed by many, including myself. I remember buying their singles Slowhand, I'm So Excited, Automatic, and Jump (For My Love) in the early 1980s, and I still have them. Their song Neutron Dance also featured in a scene in Beverly Hills Cop and Jump (For My Love) later appeared in Love Actually in 2003. Their songs have been featured on countless other shows, TV adverts, and on compilations. As a child of the 1980s, I loved The Pointer Sisters. Anita was another singer from my past that is now sadly just a memory, like so many others. They were The Supremes of my generation, but with less chart success.
