Monday

Rooney 2/1
P.160 tipo duro
1955 Gillette Flare Tip Rocket
Gillette Vietnamese Super Thin
Tabac AS[/quote]

Not so pleasant as the tipo morbido - took more work to get the lather - I assume the trade off is that the softer one is used faster, but still a good shave.

Monday

Gillette 58
7 O'clock green super stainless D4
Semogue 830

Monday

EJ Bull Mastiff
Treet Platinum (2)
ESPA shave mud (used as preshave)
Neo Custom Finest 2 band
MWF
Alum
ESPA moisturiser

much less irritation this time with less sting from the alum, another good lather with the MWF - loading up to the max really helps. I think I am going to keep at it with this product.

Re: Shave of the Day. W/C Sat 5 June 2010

Monday Evening:

  • - Scads of cold water for rinsings and dunkings.
    - Pre-shave: gentle but thorough washing, then rinsing and dunking in scads of cold water
    - My new £1.49 Temizil brush and Palmolive Shave Stick, and use of my huge new 'Souper-lather' mug
    - Wanting a bit milder today, I transferred yesterday's Gillette Bleue Extra into my red bakelite Minora mystery razor.
    - alum, alum-alum alum, alum alumalumalum!
    - Thayer's Witch Hazel Lavender
    - Boots Freshwood ASB[/list:u]

... very nice, indeed - even though it seemed that no matter how much water I added, the Palmolive lather dried and caked pretty quickly. That £1.49 brush was surpirisingly good ... not much shedding, fairly soft, yet scrubby, with good backbone and water retention.

Re: Shave of the Day. W/C Sat 5 June 2010

Monday night

Merkur Futur set on 5
Gillette Bleue Extra #1
Vulfix 2235 super
Palmolive cream
Alum
Old Spice Whitewater AS

I'd neglected the Futur of late so decided to load it up with a Bleue Extra, set it at 5 and launch it at my face  With this blade 5 is as aggressive as I want to get, possibly a tad OTT for the tash area. A nice close shave all round but with a couple of weepers, am loving the Whitewater though.

Re: Shave of the Day. W/C Sat 5 June 2010

Tuesday
Bic Sensitive razor
Semogue 1305 brush
Palmolive (stick) soap

Simple. Effective. Inexpensive.

Re: Shave of the Day. W/C Sat 5 June 2010

Tuesday

'59 Fatboy
Wilkinson Sword White Label (3)
Vulfix 404 Boadger
SWK Scuttle
Nanny's Lavender
Alum
Witch Hazel
OS Fresh Lime AS

Having had rather mixed results in the past with Nanny's soap, (and sure it was due to my technique) i was slightly dubious that this would be different for me.....but WOW!!! This is IMO the best formulation Sharon has come up with - it lathers quickly and like a dream! As usual it is very slippy and provides great protection!

Have a good day gents.

Re: Shave of the Day. W/C Sat 5 June 2010

Tuesday

Futur
Swede
EJ Best Badger
Proraso Green Tea and Aloe Soap
Clinique Post Shave Soother

Didn't use the pre-shave this morning, but that didn't cause any issues. Palm lathered the soap. I haven't face lathered for aaages.

Ian
