The unbranded Pure Badger brush used today was bought from the Yintal store on Aliexpress for £9 including tax and shipping some time ago The only badger brush to survive my culling with relatively expensive Best Badger and Silver Tip sent to ebay. Careful if looking for this brush on Aliexpress. This one has a stainless steel and resin handle. But there is a similar brush with 100% stainless steel handle with the colour on the handle achieved through oxidation and which proved to be a terrible hair shedder and went to the bin.

Euromax platinum single edge blade on its sixth daily shave and no sign of giving up yet.
Hot rinse, cold rinse
Lea 0% alcohol lotion - a bit sticky when applied and dries slowly to be non-sticky

Only my third shave with this Old type since I bought it for a fiver February last year. Previous Old types I've used over the years always led me to struggle with the angle and so I've eschewed it in favour of a razor with a better chance of an enjoyable shave.
Getting the sudden urge to correct this, today it only took a few strokes to get into a great shave... certainly the best I've ever had from an Old type. I will be giving it another run soon.

Rating: 4.5 / 5

Razor: Gillette Old Type
Blade: London Bridge Modern
Brush: Henkverhaar (TSR) badger brush Walnut Silvertip
Lather: SigNature Novus Spice
Aftershave: Old Spice (1950s)

Try the v1 head on the new handle. It's a great combination for me anyway.

I have to try a few more v2 plates before making a review.

Gillette Slim + Rex (3)
Semogue 2011 LE Boar
Noble Otter Orbit Soap/Splash

The cooling effect I get from this soap and splash is so addictive and it lasts a good 20-30 mins after the shave. Love it.
I don’t know why I don’t use my boar brushes more often this one is superb and easily matches my badgers in performance.

Love that Brush @McShaver , Semogues the workhorses of the Shaving brush world.

I really don't like Astra SPs but I have 7 blades left and I like these Lord heads so much, I thought it might even out. I could feel a difference right away from the first stroke but got a surprisingly acceptable shave. not very close in some areas but also not much irritation. that's not to say I'll be buying any more astras but it does tell me the lord L6/L7 are probably my favourite modern razors I've tried. the L6 does need the plastic handle replaced but the head design and shave it gives is just right.

My Shave today consisted of...
Prep 3P Pre shavecream.
Brush Yaqi lucky dice synthetic.
Soap Northern Elixir.
Razors Leaf & Blackland Dart.
Blade FlyDear (1).
Aftershave St johns Bay Rum cooooorrr.

Tonight I used the sample of Northern Elixir that was kindly sent to me by @LeeMaz .
It produced a nice ice cream like texture and the scent was pleasent but subtle.
I got a super smooth 2 pass shave with the Dart, lovely razor.
I finished off with setting myself on fire with the Bay rum.
Perhaps the government should hand out a bottle to all the elderly and then they won't need to worry about the heating bill as they will all be wearing just their underwear just to keep cool and shouting Cooooorrr.
No more winter worries woohoo Johnny Bravo for the next prime minister.
Enjoy your night everyone.
