Hi Aerotec and a warm welcome to the forum.
You may be getting sore cheeks for quite a few reasons or combination of reasons, most likely technique which of course will improve with experience but it could be that the soap just does not suit you. My preference is for unscented soaps, less likely to get irritation and no interference with any cologne / after-shaves I want to put on before going out.
