Hot Towel, Faena Mastic Tree, RazoRock Plissoft Monster, Merkur 39C, Astra SS(8), Cold Towel, Phoenix & Beau Balm, Woospice Amber (NP)

Today was day 4 of ODTAP, and Mastic Tree was the chosen one for today. I over loaded the brush in an attempt to get a better lather, which is not hard to do with the Monster! True to form, I got a better lather (and boy did I get a shed load of it) today, but still I feel it is lacking the qualities of the best lathers I can generate from other soaps. That said, the shave was safe and smooth, without so much as a whisker of drama. Finished off with the sublime Balm from P&B and a splash of Woodspice Amber for the scent.

Nice Saturday shave, calm and slow mood take the place and you know what that means. Quality life moment's. A QLM shave, far better than a BBS one, for me.

Final shave with the Bunny and it was a darn good one...2 pass because that is all that is needed with the NOS Twin... Simple close shave.. That is the last of my Stirling sample too [emoji22]

Razor: Souplex (NOS) with custom handle
Blade: Permasharp Super (5)
After shave: Arko Men Cool

First time the Souplex is combined with the new custom handle:

Handle details:
Aluminum, length 90 mm, diameter app. 12.5 mm, thread M5x.75mm

The Souplex with its original handle is a fine shaver: mild, yet effective.
With this new (thicker and longer) handle it shaves ever better ... ;)

Got a DFS++ result.

  • Personna 'med prep'
  • Musgo Real glycerine 'pre-shave' face soap
  • Geo F Trumper coral skinfood (used as a pre-shave - really don't like it as post-shave)
  • D R Harris rose shaving cream
  • D R Harris Pink asl (as an avowed menthol-lover, I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked this)
  • Myrsol emulsion (I have to get my menthol from somewhere)

  • Two passes (WTG & XTG), plus some smartening up
  • Some minor irritation / weepies to my neck area, which seems to be par for the course at the moment, and some remaining stubble to the corners of the mouth, otherwise BBS WTG, XTG and ATG

It's the first time I've used the Personna blades and the DRH Pink, so quite pleased really. Not at all sure about the GFT Skinfood, but I have some so I thought I'd use it.
