Your #1 Value For Money Shave Item

Number one item for me would be Palmolive shave stick. At this price and for the quality of shave, it makes sense to keep one in the wash bag for those journeys that just crop up out of the blue.

My merkur slant is also very much value for money as is my Kent BK8

Rockwell 6 S (not cheap, but a great value for a stainless steel, adjustable razor)
RazoRock Plissoft Brushes
Stirling Badger Brushes
Whipped Dog Badger Bushes

Sorry, I couldn't pick just 1.

Ha! Yes, picking just the one is hard. I'll assume that the Rockwell 6S is your "one" as you listed it first.. ;)

Not surprised to see the budget shave sticks get lots of love.. my experience of them so far has been really positive.

Interesting to note the Fatip Piccolo get several mentions.. it doesn't seem to be one of the more talked about razors on these forums.

If you really do a research both on the net and high street about the cheapest wet shaving gear, you will be amazed. Yes most of the cheap/inexpensive/budget or however you want to call it, can be just as good as Luxurious and Artisan stuff. There is another 'whole different subject' about wet-shaving gear bought at car boot sales/antique shops and markets, which varies and depends on your Luck and how good your eyes are.

I have quite a few value for money products in my den. To be honest I think many of them work a lot better than high end stuff. Some of my favorites are:

- Palmolive Stick & Cream. Hard to pick between them but the cream does have a more pleasant scent
- Speick Stick. I think this just might be the best performing shaving soap I've ever tried.
- La Toja Stick and creams.
- Ach Brito Lavanda Cream & Aftershave splash. Excellent cream and the splash reminds me of Paco Rabanne Pour Homme.
- Rose Or Bulgaria/Herbs of Bulgaria Lavender. Superb creams. The rose is nice enough but the lavender is absolutely first rate. You could stick an artisan label on this stuff and it would sell by the cartload.

My £40 39c out performs the £100+ razors I've been suckered into buying. It is still my #1 DE shaving investment; as for software, Haslinger at £6 a tub is my favourite soap amongst the 30 others I barely look at. MdC is a close second because while the initial outlay may make you blink, it lasts forever and gives your face everything it wants.

I agree with the comment on the DE. My 37c slant cost me under £30 I think. It still serves me well. It has only two parts and with the right software gives me superb shaves.

The La Toja range of products seems to get a lot of love.. where's the best place to get it off the shelf in the U.K.?
