Shave Of The Day Saturday 8th -Friday 14th July

Hi,

Not sure if this helps, for me a very light touch and watching the angle. I get good audio feedback when I hit the sweet spot. I also hold the Rocca closer to the head, compared with other razors, making sure that I find the balance point so the head is neutral in weight, if that makes sense).

I also find that the Astras (SP Green) work for me well with the Rocca. I could not get the Gillette Nacet's to work (tugging). However, that was one pack, which could have been a bad batch, and I will try that blade again at some point, taking some advice from here not to right it off just yet.

I find it a classic and close to the best DE razor I have used. I appreciate that at the moment your milage does vary, and I do hope that you can get the Rocca to work for you.

All the best,

Chris

Thank you Chris. I'll take all your advice on board.:)

Prep: Cold Water
Brush: Vulfix VS/1 boar
Soap: Omega Eucalyptus
Razor: General Brass
Blade: Feather Pro
Afters: Dove PSB, 4711 AS

Much better shave today, the grey wiry whiskers didn't stand a chance against this blade, it just mowed them down without a shred of remorse.
Well that's cold hard steel for ya!

Now for the super?

Tomorrow it's a return to the Streamline/Jewel. Thursday is super Thursday :)
Edit: I really like this blade though, very smooth.
It will be interesting to see what you think, you have slightly more blade exposure with the super giving a super close shave, done in two passes!
Pleased you are liking the General, you were lucky to get one when you did.
How do you find the extra width? No problem I'm assuming :)

Im looking forward to it :)
Don't mind the wide head nor the knurl free handle.
Overall a very very good razor.:)

Pre Shave: Hot Shower + L'Oreal Pure Power Face Wash and Proraso Green
Razor: iKon 101 + OSS Handle
Blade: Treet Carbon Black (#1)
Brush: Mason Pearson Super Badger
Cream: Truefitt and Hill Almond
Post: Alum Block, Cold water and Thayers Lemon Witch Hazel
AS: Nivea Soothing Balm

Never used a Treet Carbon blade in the iKon 101 before, the whole shave was very smooth and effortless. The first pass really felt like there was no blade in the razor, I had to double check I had the angle right. And yes the blade is missing from the razor as I had taken it out to dry before putting into my Fat boy ready for tomorrow. I tend to get the next days shave ready the night before, but that is no guarantee that I won't change my mind when I get up in the morning.
