Tues 26th Sept

RazoRock Plissoft 22mm
Lea Classic soap
Supply SE V1- on plate 3
Schick Proline type B- [ 7 ]
Alum rub/Rinse Off
Lea Classic A/S Lotion.

Having got a reduced amount of beard regrowth from yesterdays shave, I was interested to see how the Supply performed. I have finally started to get good shaves with it after pairing it up with the Schick AC type blade. It still is comparatively mild, and I have to put in extra polishing up time to get that really close Shave. However, I find that it is really good when working on the Chin and Upper lip being very forgiving.

Greetings All,

Tuesday shave.

One growth and warm shave

Preparation – face washed with Clique Liquid facial soap (mild)

Pre: None
Soap: P&B Citra Royale
Razor: Gillette Slim Adjustable
Blade: Shark SS (5th)

Brush: Omega 641 Silvertip (face lather)

Post Shave: Cold water rinse, a shower and to conclude Proraso Green Aftershave and Nivea 2 Phase.

So, took the leap and went with the 7 setting – and thank you @patw it was a very nice shave, with one exception, which was my fault. I underloaded the brush (I forgot how much more loading a badger brush requires over a synthetic) and my third (ATG) pass left my neck ever so slightly irritated, but nothing severe. My Gillette Slim Adjustable is very much growing on me.

All in all, a good morning in front of the mirror (excluding my reflection looking like death warmed up), but, at the end, death with a nigh on BBS shave.

Cheers,

Brian

The Personal Barber razor
Feather blade (2)
Palmolive Shave Stick
Edwin Jagger Best Badger brush
NeilBart AS balm sample (Lavender B)
Edwin Jagger Alum Stick

Bad shave today, second pass on my chin and the blade just bit right into me. Quite a bleeder, needed keep alum in it for s good two minutes before it slowed and stopped.

Checking blade and it looks like I did not clean it properly after my last shave. Going to leave my next shave for a few days for the cut to heal.

How do people find the Proraso healing gel? Does that do anything different to Alum?

Seals up a bad cut very quickly.

Good write-up Wayne. Your experience is what I feared could happen after watching the ‘Kevy shaves' video a few days ago.

There were a number of Red flags, the first one is having to snap the blade in half. A big no-no in my book. The next one is how you load the blade. One slip and you could slice the top of your thumb off. Judging from your experience it shouldn't even be on the market.

It's also probably the ugliest looking razor. I know they say ‘'beauty is in the eye of the beholder'' but come on! Plus £45.00 is a joke when you compare it to the Colonial General. It looks like it was made in someone's shed.

Have I used the razor? No. Do I fancy trying it? No. I just fancied a bit of rant.:p:oops::rolleyes:
I've got to admit, having watched Kevy turn himself into an extra for 'The Masque of the Red Death', I'm in no hurry to try this one. It looks flimsy, fiddly and all this snapping blades business would result in disaster for me, especially if I decide to take up the mandolin.

£45.00 is indeed pants. £20 or so less will get you a new version RazoRock Hawk, with little risk of removing your fingerprints.

Still, mileage and all that. But not for me...it looks cheap, but clearly isn't.

But all this talk of The General has got my enable-o-meter on high alert...

Pre: Bloom Water
Soap: Chiseled Face Ghost Town Barber
Razor: Focus R48 Dynamic SE
Blade: Rotbart Extra Dunn (2)
Brush: Graydog Cocobolo Keyhole Custom Boar
Post: Alum Block
A/S: Alt Innsbruck
Balm: Bulldog Sensitive A/S Balm

I was a bit wary about using the Focus Dynamic after the last time I used it where it caused me serious irritation. But my curiosity got the better of me…!! This time however, no problems. I can only put the last time I used this, and it was such a bad shave, to it being a bad edge on the blade. (And maybe a little bit of my crap technique!) This was like night and day to the last shave when I used it.
Very comfortable to use once you find the angle and a very enjoyable shave. The alum block din't give much feedback at all. Ghost town barber and Alt Innsbruck are a fantastic pairing.

The Feather pro blade on its first outing is a bit harsh for me. It does smooth out, and proved so with this shave. A great trade from @newbie gave me the Wickham soap. Great scent and admirable performance.
