Pre Shave: Hot Shower + L'Oreal Pure Power Charcoal Face Wash and Proraso white
Razor: Colonial General
Blade: Feather Soft Guard (#2)
Brush: Maseto 24mm 2 band finest
Soap: Pré de Provence
Post: Alum Block, Cold water and Humphreys Witch Hazel
AS: Lucky Tiger AS Tonic

I have not shaved with the Colonial General for quite a while, so it made a welcome return. What was not quite as welcome was the Feather Soft Guard blade I decided to use, the end result was actually fine but this is one odd blade. The shave was pretty much the same as the last shave with this blade in an iKon El Jefe, maybe slightly better. The first pass WTG felt very rough/tuggy, the next pass XTG was better and the final ATG pass was pretty good. No nicks, no weepers and no post shave irritation, but that first pass was too rough, I can see or rather actually feel why this blade is not well liked. Maybe I should try ATG on the first pass next time, or maybe I should not bother using these blades again.

DFS with these tools tonight. First time with this shave bowl and razor handle. Both worked very well.
When you see a date for Old Spice Decanters the first date is when the decanter was introduced and the second date is the last year they produced that decanter.

That's some collection of Old Spice decanters you've been showing us, I didn't realise there was so many variations . :)

Razor: Barbaros TR2
Blade: GSB (3)
Brush: WW 'Bishop'
Soap: APR Fresca
Post: CL Fourth & Pine Toner
My first go with the APR line of soaps and I must say that the scent from Fresca is exactly that, fresh; scent strength isn't overly strong but it is a very nice, fresh scent and perfect for a morning shave. Lather was easy to build, the soap is thirsty but I have plenty of water at home so it's all good :) The soap showed extreme slickness and residual slickness, post had a nice feel as well. I've been doing 2-pass shaves in the morning so I need my soaps to perform so I can achieve that BBS. APR is definitely a superb performer and I'm happy that I was able to purchase it.

The big surprise for me was the post shave finisher. It was the first time I had ever used a CL product and I was blown away at how wonderful and effective the toner was; I could feel my skin hydrating all day long from that small application and the scent was incredible. Fourth & Pine is now my favorite scent of all time, it's such a happy scent and it's refreshing at the same time. I had to immediately send a message to Shawn and excitedly ask for an EdT. Here's to hoping for something next year.

Prep: Hot shower and Loreal face scrub
Pre: Bloom water
Razor: Gillette Tech
Razor blade: Polsilver
Brush: Simpsons Manchurian Captain
Bowl: Little Wren Pottery
Soap: Eufros Fougere
Post: Thayers witch hazel and Fine American Blend

This shave and more importantly the razor was influenced and inspired by Chris AKA @Far Cry Toff. I met up Chris last week and what top bloke he is. Nothing like comes across on the forums....Laffin! Only joking Chris.:p

He bought a brush off me and it turns out he only lives a mile up the road from myself so
we met up for a coffee and chatted all things shaving and evening Hi-Fi. It turns out he has the same record deck as myself.
He mentioned some of his favourite razors including the Fatboy and the Tech. I'd fancy trying the Tech for a little while and thanks to Chris raving about them I set out to buy one.

I bought one Friday thanks to Ben AKA @Benz3ne pointing one out on eBay. Thanks Ben.:)

Ok enough of this jibber jabber. :D Onto the shave.
What a belter of a shave. I choose the Polsilver blade as I'd read the Tech was a mild razor. The blade was a great parring with the Tech. A smooth and very efficient shave.
I found I only really needed two passes on my face and a third and a few touch-ups on the neck. Cracking shave.

I also thought this would be a great razor for a beginner. It's definitely safe enough.

I'll leave you with a track from New Order's album Technique, get it.:p:cool::D

Good soap then ? lol

Blinding album.

What turntable do you have ? Don't tell me it's a Linn Sondek.

A wonderful shave to end the run of Vitos with, this soap has been superb all week. I am very happy I gave it another shot after my first use 2/3 years ago. Same goes for the Bolzano, my previous blade must have been a dud, the past three uses have been nothing short of superb. No loss from the brush today, shed a lot in previous uses.

@nolisco You have posted in the wrong week.

I bought mine new in 1987. Can't remember how much. Ittok LVII. Audiotechnica AT-F5.
It lives in its box under the bed as my house is too small to set it up & have my speakers on their stands. I'd never sell it though.

I bought mine second hand in the mid 90's for £750.00. It took me many years but it's now at Klimax level, apart the cartridge which is a Ortofon Cadenze Black MC. The only original parts are the lid and bearing...It could do with a dusting off. :oops:Haven't used it for a while.
