SOTD Saturday 9th December 2017 - Friday 15th December 2017

No idea. This was just something my Grandmother told me a long time ago. I would say not. It probably would've been after they'd had a couple hits and appeared on TOTP. Hence why she recognised him.

My first single was Adam and the Ants "Stand and Deliver ". When I was 10 years old.:)

For me - 'Money' by the Flying Lizards. 1979 - so I would have been 11. Cheers - I.

Will the kids of today, be saying my first download was?

The depressing truth is music doesn't seen to hold that much importance to them these days. I was going to say it's just another commodity to them but that would mean they are actually buying music. Which seems to foreign to them.
I'm not say all kids are like this but it doesn't seem to hold the same magic and passion we have for it.

From 10 years old music was my life and still is.

I know I come across as a sad, cynical old git but it's what I see and hear.:(

I think your right Iain. Garage bands are the best to me these days. No pre programming or computer over dubs. Just live music and beer. :(

A nice simple evening shave. I've never tried a Lab Blue in the #21. I should have done as it works very well. My recently acquired YaQi Black Fibre brush continues to perform well a week into it's initial testing. I will write up the results after another week or so.

I don't know if I agree with you here. My youngest lad (21), loves music, goes to gigs and festivals and a couple of his mates play guitar.
I think music is one of our basic pleasures and there will always be a place for it. As long as it's not just X factor, the future for good music is still bright.

What you say - I'd also add that the delivery mechanism - digital - makes a huge difference. It's ephemeral - these days - there is no understanding of the fact that somebody needs to get paid to originate material? - of whatever medium. If it is online - it is apparently free? I'm a professional photographer - my stuff gets ripped off all the time. There is no understanding that unless I can earn a wage - the pictures would not be produced in the first place. - I.

Shaved head and delineated beard today.
Cream o melhor, Semogue 2000 bristle brush, ATT H1 with UFO handle Titan XL, rapira blade (2), after shave Floid vigoroso, eau de toilette one million Paco Rabanne.
The protective cream with good post-shave feeling, this brush with good backbone allows to foam very well, the tips a little stiff although it has bloomed well, which is perceived with a slight itch, this ATT is excellent, I perceive it soft, strong with the pure weight of this magnificent and beautiful UFO handle, the floid I love and closed with a touch of Paco Rabanne. Rating 4/5.

Sotd - Saturday - 9/12

Razor - Schick O type clone
blade - mystery vintage single (3)
brush - Semogue 2000 boar
soap - MT Mint Ice Menthol
post - witch hazel
a/s - Myrsol Formula K
balm - Vifrex gel
scent - Creed Bois de Portugal.

Result - top end shave

That was great. Software inspired by @Scotshave last week - it's Baltic out there - how are you going to respond? Let's have as face freezing a shave as possible. I shaved my head too for maximum effect. I think there is a future in menthol for winter - normally reserved for hot summer days but I'm Scottish - we don't get many of them. When I left the flat - it was - how can I put it? Bracing. I certainly felt alive - albeit with eyes streaming and the lower half of my face was numb. For non tallow soaps I find the MT products to be very good. First use of my new to me Semogue 2000 - lightly used by the previous owner - who passed it on saying ' it's too big for my face,' - which looking at it in the usual Semogue plastic case - didn't make much sense. Yeah - until you soak it. Bugger me - The 62mm loft is the biggest of any brush I own - it's a wall of boar. The tips are already starting to split - soft with good backbone. I'm going to get on just fine with this brush. According to Semogue - it's a 90% tops knot - same as the iconic 1305 brush. The O type Schick is a weird razor to use, you don't get the impression anything is happening - but in two passes bbs. Super mild and efficient for me. I'll be back to the Streamline next week for a final hurrah before sending it back home. My skin feels great and I smell nice thanks to the Creed. She told me so. Menthol for winter? - it's my new favourite thing. Enjoy your shaves one and all - yours - I.
Thanks for the tag, Iain :)

Pre: Prep cream
Razor: Merkur Progress
Blade: Astra SP
Soap: Wickham 1912 Magnum
Brush: Stirling Synthetic 24mm
Bowl: Fine Shaving Bowl
Post: Fine American Blend & BBA Post Shave Balm

A damn fine shave

The soap was a sample. I had it for a while, tried it only once before and wasn't satisfied with it. The scent wasn't good and the lather i got was disappointing. Now i gave it another chance. I am so glad i did. The soap leathered perfectly and scent was rather pleasing. Another soap for me to buy [emoji4]

Greetings

Sunday 10th December 2017
Prep: Shower
Razor: Henckels Rapide
Blade: Henckles Rapide
Brush: Muhle XL Synthetic
Soap: Lea Stick (New Veggie Formula)
Aftershave: Simple Moisteriser
EDP: Miller Harris Vetiver Insolent

These new Lea sticks without the tallow are, IMHO, considerably inferior to the old tallow version, last month whilst in the Canaries I noticed that of the three supermarkets I visited, one had the new version, one the old, and the third had both all mixed together on the shelf. The old tallow sticks I suspect will disappear from sale quite soon; a real shame.

Regards
Dick.
