Anyone familiar with vintage Gillette Platina blades I bought them thinking Gillette Swedes. And I believe the now binned blister pack said Gillette Platinum but when checkig blades they are actually marked Platina ie Platinum in Swedish so maybe Swedes after all?

Except Gillette "Swedes" were never made in Sweden. The only reason they were ever called that is down to the prominence of the Swedish customer service address on the package. You could equally have called them French, German, Danish, British, Finnish...

Platina is much more likely to be Spanish than Swedish (just from the number of native speakers). Whatever you have in your hand though, it isn't a fabled "Swede" (actually made in Berlin before DE production was moved to Poland and subsequently to Russia)

Well in Swedish platina = platinum for sure but after checking a blade it is still not a Gillette Swede because it is not at all produced in Berlin, Poland or Russia but actually Made in England might still be ok will try it tomorrow

Those have been discod. for a long time. They are IMO a fantastic blade. I still have about 20 left.
