ever notice that some who love the harsh burn and facial damage of 6 blade cartridge razors LOVE the harshness of the Feather?
It's actually not a crazy statement at all. Current production Wilkinson Sword blades are a shadow of past offerings.I know this is going to sound crazy but I just cannot get on with the bog standard Wilkinson Sword blades!
Chris, sorry for delay. No, I haven't heard anything from him in ages now. I don't know if he is out of the game now, but he did make some nice car-boot purchases, as I remember. Not the Jewells though, they really were bad.Evening Mick - have you heard from Sunbury recently? I still miss his Bay Rum.

Don't worry mate, doesn't matter We don't have to prove anything here, something that works good for me, may not work for you. Perhaps that's why we got so many choices. Interesting enough that I find Astras very good and I can get the 3rd shave comfortably.
If you ditch em you're welcome to ditch them my way . One of my favourite blades.I always loved Polsilver SI. Shaving.ie had a big pile of older Polsilvers for sale, brown wrapper Lodz blades, at a higher price and from the description it sounded like they would be even better than the Polsilver SI. They weren't for me. They are the most horrible blade I've ever used. I ought to ditch them.
Since then, I've explored various other brands, and settled on Sharks as my favourite
So there you go, horses for courses.

I can't believe you find the Shark to be mild! It felt like I was using the R41 without any soap or cream whatsoever! It was horrible and painful. I had to stop halfway through and revert to my 39c with a Voskhod to finish the shave.
I havn't tried as many blades out as some people here, as I've only come back to proper wet shaving this year. But I do already have a few favorites, and a few that I hate.
Reliable and always gut for a BBS shave: Astra SP's, Polsilver, Personna reds.
Blades that I will never, ever use again: Feather, Derby, Merkur. All as rough as a badgers arse, and totally unuseable for me. YMMV...
I also have a tuck of Sharks that I got with my Parker 99R, but after reading some of the opinions here about them, I'm not sure whether I should risk trying them or not
