Any Mont Blanc experts here?

So today I picked up this chap:

However... I know nothing about it, can find no other images of a single Mont Blanc anything like it. It seems to have the classic "pix" on the band on the cap. Shell seems to be brass.

It may just be a fake.. Or simply very old. I don't know.

Anyone the wiser?

indeed...

i mean its no big deal to me either way, it'll likely sit in a drawer until I can find out something about it, and maybe get it cleaned up a bit more.

I'm sure it's fake :) as a genuine refill doesn't fit. Dead giveaway!!

No big shakes, it cost me a fiver.

What's better though, is I got a genuine cross Townsend, black and gold, at the same stall for five quid too. And it writes gorgeously. Just a rollerball again, but that suits me as in IT I spend all day writing and fountain pens are no ideal.

I do a lot of writing as well, and I love fountain pens. I always carry my Parker Sonnet cisele with me, and at least one other pen (with a different color).

I have a similar sonnet myself if I need a fountain pen. Mine has the same nib, but a brushed metal finish all over, with gold accents.

Nice! I have a similar one as well. In fact, I have three Sonnets :)

All fountain pens, I don't like rollerballs or ballpoint pens. I do have a soft spot for mechanical pencils.

Flash back to '68. Salamanca Spain. Someone nicked my Parker sterling Ball point! Still have the fountain pen 1/2 of the set. But it still annoys me 45yrs later. It was a beautiful set!

Definitely. I have a couple of nice MB pencils and a Faber Castell. Use a mechanical pencil every day. More reliable than a pen!
