Anyone reconsidering use of Alum? What other options?

I never use it.On the rare occasion that I might nip myself I would use a styptic pencil.I always finish the shave with lots of cold water (as cold as possible)& plenty of aftershave splash.The cold water is essential for me.Once the aftershave has dried I will moisturise & finish off with the chosen EDT.
