I know the van der hagen badger brush I had last year was made in china, and just imported by VDH... its their whole concept. However it was listed as badger on the box, but the hair was more like a dog... coarseness, feel, way it flopped around, and the way it shed.

However, I saw this interesting item on ebay tonight while searching for vintage badger brushes, its odd how many "badger" brushes pop up on ebay. And the fact its advertised as being made from horse hair, raises the old van der hagen material question of mine,

is it dog hair, or is it something else?

cut ends rally make identification hard at times.
