Dear gents,
although today I was planning to shave with the straight, Billy had honed and sent me, I have forgotten that it's a bank holiday and the post office is closed, so I mowed my 5 day stubble using both the V2 Claymore with a pro-guard (not my favourite mild blade) and the brass General with a pro on it's 3rd outing.
As I have very strong stubble it was difficult for the general to go through it, leaving patches untouched and feeling very mild and inefficient. This is not however the experience I get from it when I use it on a 2 day stubble as I consider it a mild, but efficient SE under these circumstances. I changed to the Claymore and the efficiency even with the pro-guard was amazing. It was cutting like a knife through soft butter and very clearly audible. In two passes I was BBS. It is a more aggressive SE than the general for sure but also much more efficient. It needs watching though as I'm sure it was not designed with the novice in mind, but the experienced shaver that has mastered the technique. As I've been wet shaving for some time now, it was a pleasant surprise also satisfying to see than my technique is still solid, after the OneBlade which I've been using for some time.
It was such a satisfying shaving session, I'm in love with my Claymore. It's in the RX aggression territory but for less than half the price. I think I'll go for the SS version as well when it comes out and I regret not buying the V1. Maybe e-bay will help on this one.
Really, a highly recommended SE for the experienced shaver.
