Hi guys ,
Can anyone give me some advice someone has donated a Darwin De lux
Razor to me along with other items to sale at a car boot sale ,to raise money for my son's school trip to kenya ,anyway I have come across a Darwin De lux razor in a made in Sheffield metal tin ,it is a really lovely Razor in mint condition has Darwin across the top and a ref no ,the tin/box it is in has slight bit of rust ,I was amazed to see how much they sale for ,so was wondering if anyone has any advice should I sale on eBay or is there a better place

As a brand new member, you cannot sell it here. Very unfortunately. ebay is your best bet, undoubtedly - catch an international market. Good luck! You might want to check postage rates to the States before posting your auction.

Of course, I suppose you could send it to me so I could offer you half of what you'll get on ebay - but you'll know the razor stays British and much loved and admired.

Thank you so much for your help ,my son is going out to kenya to help build classrooms
So I'm so delighted that this will add much needed funds to money raised ,I will look to sell on eBay and check out international
 
Ebay is your best option. Make sure you have good pictures and give the razor a nice buff with a cloth before you take them. Allow international shipping and run the auction for 10 days. Try to end the auction at the weekend, when people have more time for bidding on ebay and make sure the ending time is not in the middle of night in Europe or the US.
If you go down the car boot sale route, let me know which one :p:p
 
Great gift to be given, it sound like you have a Darwin Deluxe S.E Razor. Is it in an oblong chrome plated case ? These can still sell well and the advice of putting it on Ebay to get the best exposure is in my humble opinion the way to go.
Best of luck with the sale and I hope it raises much needed cash for your sons project.
 
Go with ebay. If you take some good photos and label is Darwin Deluxe the market will make sure you get a good price.
Judging from your description that might well be several hundred pounds.
 
Kenya! Darwin!, I'll take it for above what you are offered on ebay @sue also throw in accommodation, travel, food and police escort for your son when in Kenya. Out of interest whereabouts in Kenya is the project taking place?
