I only ever use one razor and even with an adjustable razor I would only use one setting and go without an extra pass if I feel like it may irritate me, or abort the rest of the shave if I feel the first pass is too aggressive for my liking (looking at you R41!).

For me using two razors would be too much to trifle with and unnessary excess clean up.

First pass with an aggressive razor then revert back to a milder razor for 2nd or 3rd pass?

That's where the adjustable comes in. It also adjusts for the different blades you wish to use.
As an alternative, some shavers use shims to increase aggressiveness but I have never heard of varying shims during a shave. Far too complicated.

I will occasionally use one razor for my beard and another to shave my head. Going against the grain on my head demands more sharpness and stability than my beard.
