Do you have a regular morning routine?

Many of the great thinkers, scientists, philosophers, artists and statesmen of the world have well established morning routines. These structured routines are the foundation for well being and a productive day. I am assuming because this is a shaving forum that most of us shave in the morning (except for you night shavers)...but what about the rest of your morning routine?

What is your morning routine?

1. Congratulate myself on waking to another day.
2. Carry out what nowadays pass for my physical & spiritual exercises.
3. On to washing, shaving and breakfast.

1. If I want to continue to breathe, take a cuppa upstairs to she who must be obeyed.
2. Breakfast of porridge and banana
3. 3 mile walk in country
4. The 3 S's
5. then... as little as I can get away with!

Shit
Coffee
Shower
Shave - always 3 passes
Dress
30 min work on laptop
Leave for work - my office is 60 miles away via the M27/M3, so leaving a bit later saves me sitting in a queue most mornings.

First thing I do is grind some coffee beans and make a brew.
Feed the dog
Make some food for work
Porridge, nuts, seeds and cinnamon in a pot to eat at work.
Walk the dog
Go to work

Although been on paternity leave, this has gone to potand will be slightly different by the time that work begins again.

Up at 6am, wash n shave, get dressed
Kettle on, toast on,
Make tea, put TV news on,
Take SWMBO a cup o'tea in bed
Drink tea n eat toast
On the iPad to see what's the latest on TSR. .... :)

- Rise between 5.30 am and 6.30 am. 5.30 am on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday when I go to the gym at 7.00 am; 6.30 am on other days.
- Enter the bathroom and turn on the hot water in the basin. Relieve myself whilst the water is running. Place my scuttle under the hot water and fill. Select a shaving brush and place it in the hot water in the scuttle and turn off the water
- Shower for about 10 minutes.
- Dry off. Shake brush and empty scuttle.
- Rinse my face with hot water and fill the scuttle.
- Select shaving cream, wet brush with hot water, apply cream to brush and commence lathering on my face.
- Strop my Mach3 on my left forearm and start first pass with the grain.
- Rinse my face and re-lather for the second pass across the grain.
- Rinse my face and re-lather for third pass across the grain and against the grain.
- Rinse my face and feel my face, chin and neck for any missed spots; touch up as necessary.
- Final rinse off my face with lukewarm water, dry and apply, liberally, the aftershave I've selected.
- Go down to the kitchen and make a pot of tea (usually Taylor's of Harrowgate Yorkshire Gold) for my the wife and me.
- Read the morning paper, which is delivered to the house, whilst drinking tea.
- Eat some breakfast and get on with my day...I'm retired so the day is mostly mine.:)
