Just stocking up....

Sticks and small travel pucks.

I scored a couple of lovely vintage Gillette's last week.

What I thought was a US Aristocrat but I now believe to be a 1955 Diplomat? and a superb English made No 58 (1954-55) Aristocrat Junior.

The gold plating has rubbed off the Diplomat in a few places but it's still a
very good razor (lovey leather covered box)

The plating on the English one is fantastic, I thought it was rhodium but research here and other places says it very well done nickel?

Both great shaves, I think the Aristocrat Jnr has the edge?

If you ever wanted to get the Diplomat replated, I highly recommend Chris, he also has an Etsy store: BackRoadsGold

Visited the Traditional Shaving Co in Leeds on the way to work, what a bad move. Walked out with some more 'Gentleman's Tonic' Shaving cream (my cream of the moment) and another Muhle synthetic brush (faux horn) as I rate them highly. A nice weighty brush.

Also tried their new Lime Cologne and must say I was quite impressed. Certainly on the list for a pleasant light scent come the summer.

Lovely looking scuttle there Sean, and interesting it being a brush scuttle instead of the more usual.

Looking forward to my bowl that is in production at the moment (less than half way, so not expecting it until very late March, or into April)

Cheers, John

Bit of a luxury item really, not entirely necessary. But it does keep the brush and lather warm between passes.

March / April will soon come around.
