Thanks for the warm welcome lads.

Hello from another Glasgow resident (although not a "local")!

What flavour of scientist are you? If you don't mind me asking.

I'm a chemist, but if you say that then people instanly ask what shop you work in, and whether you can get them any methadone or cheap Tabac. I'm not a pharmacist, I work in a lab for a fairly large, but low-profile chemical company. I'm mostly interested in analytical and organic chemistry, but I've been known to dabble in inorganic. Physical chemistry makes my brain itch however.

Welcome to the forum Stephen. It seems that you've learned one of the most important lessons already, knowing your limitations. I'm also a member on a couple of the other forums, mentioning them is allowed (bad mouthing other forums is bad form however). As good as the 'others' are I like the slight UK/EU bias of TSR, it's more useful when planning my next strategic "forgetting to mention with intent" purchase. I also don't follow the fitba (twenty two millionaires ruining a lawn to quote Charlie Booker).

I'm trying to work towards my face feeling like 400 grit sandpaper, normally it's closer to 80. I have to say your description of football actually makes it sound quite interesting. If only there were more explosions...

Hi and welcome from a fellow weggie. And from the looks of your user name a closeish neighbour I am from shawlands

Ah, the elegant South Side, or lower Merchant City as the estate agents have started calling it. :D
I'm not from the Gorbals, but I've lived there for nearly 10 years. I was born in a small post-industrial wasteland called Coatbridge. You may be aware of it.

Hopefully I've not missed anyone out.
Thanks again,

Stephen

Like lots of people I happened upon Mantic59's youtube videos while looking for very obscure, specific pornog... er shaving tips.

Hi, Stephen
You'll know you're truly as sad as the rest of us when you happen upon the obscure specific porn while you're actually looking for... erm... less colourful shaving tips

Glasgow meet coming soon! Well once Russ gets back from his round the world cruise. Welcome Stephen.

Welcome! I'm a biologist by training (BSc (Hons) Biological Sciences, University of East Anglia and MRes Health Research from the same place) I'm currently distance-learning from the OU for a PgDip in "Science and Society" with the aim of getting into scientific writing. We have a couple of scientific members hereabouts, and it's nice to gain another!

Welcome Stephen and prepare for your various disorders to rapidly spiral.

Several us are carrying various 'acquisition simians' on our backs that we will be only too happy to pass on.

Welcome, I am a newbie too. Currently living in North Perthshire..

If you ever find yourself at a loose end in Dundee, firstly sorry! Secondly waste an hour salivating around the Gentleman's Groom Room.

Ian, the owner is a Gent, and very good at relieving you of your pocket money....

I have no interest in his business, just enjoy visiting his shop from time to time.....

Enjoy the forum, it is very very good...........

I've already got a vague plan to take a wee trip over to Dundee to go there, once the weather gets a bit better and the bike comes out of hibernation. It's only a 160 mile trip to go to a shaving shop, what's crazy about that?
It's no worse than going to Inverary for a cup of coffee, potentially more expensive though.

I've been quite good with my ADs I've only bought 75 blades and two aftershaves and one cream recently. Some of the blades were shipped in from Russia, and I did take a bit of a slagging off for that.

I got paid yesterday so my wallet's more than fat enough that it could loose a few pounds. Payday resets all previous transactions to zero. After spending a few hours reading through the older posts on here I now covet stuff I didn't even know existed a few weeks ago, I'll be ordering some Nanny's soap soon I think.

Thanks all,
Stephen
