I've only just found your thread!
The bowl works as well as it looks - just sits in my hand while I load the brush and the small amount of lather generated there is contained by your ingenious "reverse lip", giving extra height to the walls.
Why are you spending so long in the bathroom? What are you doing? I'm admiring my bowl!
