How many are you holding "in stock"?

I actually prefer the supermax super stainless sunrise or the super platinum tiger. I tried one of the ordinary ones and it did'nt agree with me at all .I PIF'ed 'em to Max.
 
Dont DE blades have a shelf life?..I could recall my father in law having some spare DE blades with his Schick black handle slim twist..blades lookin old n rusty..40yrs of blades..man dats a lotta cream! :shock:

Guess carbon steel blades might go bad if stored poorly but not stainless ? I have used stainless from 1980's stored in a grooming kit. Shaved nicely

I'm no blade expert so others can answer this

I went upstairs and I totally didn't have any Super-Max blades… I was confused. So, what are they like? At that price, I guess they are worth a punt?!?!?

As I said, I'd like to get my blade stash up and running. :D

Astras are favourite, but a go-to blade would also be welcome – it's a minefield, though.

I've only tried the blue Supermax. For me they are medium sharpness but very smooth. I tend to suffer from irritation and soreness with most blades, but these were very forgiving. They give me the normal amount of shaves - 3 or 4. They're perfect as an every day blade for me because of this and their cheapness and availability.

Like you my favourites are the Astras (blue rather than green and Keramic too expensive)

Having said that I'm too flighty with blades to stay loyal for long as curiosity gets the better of me!

Hi Lipsy, loads of blades at good price points around fella. If your looking to stock you wont go far wrong with the above (obviously have a go with them before ordering large amounts) Id recommend the Thins and Bleue's Nos whilst you can, both good Iridium replacements and good price.

I looked at the Connaught sample pack (on their web site), noticed it had Super-Max blades in them. Mentally, I made the short hop to 'I must have some of those, then'. What I had failed to take into account was the fact that the Super-Max blades replaced the Iridiums which I did get… D'oh! I did get excited, as I thought I could try something that would be prove to be super-cheap to buy. For what it's worth, I would have PIF'd a few on if I'd had them… Tell you what, if/when I grab some S-M's, consider a pack heading your way (or whatever I do order, if you are interested).

I thought I had a lot of blades until I read some of the posts:

Persona - 10
WS Classic - 10 (2 x 5)
Lazer - 5 (yeah I know, but I'll try them anyway)
Superdrug - 10
Derby - 5

Total = 40 blades.

That should last me until November, or 4 shaves per blade = 160 days, give or take shave free days as well. Factor in the Lazer blades at probably 1 shave a blade if they really are that bad.
