I have settled on Waitrose French dark roast beans in the office bean to cup, not bad in the espresso machine either.

Then a slice of that great bread you posted warm with butter and home made plum jam and a great bowl of coffee.
Clean shAven of course.
It struck my wife that people on the forum like to do everything from scratch. Ie getting back to unprocessed basics.
I was born in the 1950's and clearly haven't left it...

Well partly but it's more a question of quality really, most commercial bread is just so poor (Chorleywood process) it's virtually inedible but there's plenty of awful home made produce being made too including some of the stuff I made prior to finding that no knead recipe. That's not to say I'm not partial to Waitrose white sliced sour dough, usually buy some with the French dark roast and some Comte cheese.

Well I admit to hearing about Comté after watching Blanc on TV and then magically Waitrose started stocking it in their designer cheese section. It is unpasteurised deliciousness though...pungently nutty, creamy and sweet.
