March 2017 Acquisitions

Oh you pretty thing. Unfortunately no case so impossible to date precisely, but pre-1985*. These look so much better in gold.

*Red numbers, no circle around logo, plain font, Made in Germany

A couple Stirling stainless steel razor handles arrived, the Ft. Worth on the left and the Dallas on the right. They were nicely packaged and accompanied by a shaving soap sample. Both are grade 3, meaning a combination of satin and polished, but I don't see any satin. They have some small tooling marks, but for $37 each shipped I didn't expect perfection. Both have a good feel in my hand.

Seemed like I lost my old Contour Plus handle as it's not where I thought it was (didn't use it in yonks). To my surprise there is no handles on the high street not even generic ones like the ones Superdrug used to stock.

Bought a Vector from an Indian seller on the bay but it is entirely made out of plastic for heaven sake [emoji90] [emoji83]

Looked on Amazon and bingo there is someone there selling Brazilian made original design handles (NOS?)

Only £8 so not far from what these use to be in Boots.

Henckels Zwilling 13 arrived yesterday. Seller said that he'd given it a quick/light hone but I feel it might need some proper time on the hones... Not quite as sharp as my other razors and a slight smile at the toe. Looks a beauty though, I can see why they're so sought after.
