I received a couple of emails in the last 2 weeks saying the brushmaker has been contacted to source/make a brush with similar spec to my original; a densely-filled silvertip with no floppiness.
Well, I received an email a couple of days ago saying such a brush was ready to be shipped. It arrived yesterday morning.
It looks very much like this one on their site:

Middle one. The total height is 9.5-10cm. hair height (loft?) is ~ 50mm. knot diameter looks to be 22mm to 23mm -crude estimate.I like the size and the brush is very good looking. It is also densely filled and for a new brush, the tips are very soft indeed. First shave with it tomorrow, so I can compare it to the one I had before. I gave it a quick, gentle wash with a drop of shampoo as it had this dodgy cigar/smoke smell coming from it. Not your usual badger hair smell. After the wash, it bloomed really nicely. Reminded me of shavemac brush pictures i often see.
After 2-2.5 months of communicating, it's good on Taylor's to offer a like-for-like replacement and I have thanked them for it.
