My Top Soaps

I thought it time to do a little video to detail my favourite soaps. I've gone for the top 11, which to some is a daft number (why not top 10), but I included all soaps that score 99% or more on my score sheet.


My criteria is divided as below:

Post shave - 30%
Slickness - 30%
Cushion - 20%
Scent - 10%
Ease of Lathering - 10%

Giving a total of 100%.
 
Excellent...my thoughts; starting with my favourites (I should mention that, at time of writing, I've yet to use my P&B Baskerville and Gentleman's Groom Room Highland Bothy). Percentages tend to vary with mood.

1. Wickham's 1912 Cashmere
2. OSP Fougère
3. Phoenix and Beau Star Noir
4. Tabac Original
5. Mitchell's Wool Fat
6. Haslinger Hönig
7. NSS Signature Warm Spice
8. Cella Olio di Mandorla
9. Saponificio Varesino T.A.
10. Proraso Menthol and Eucalyptus
11. Proraso Sandalwood

2017 to-obtain list includes (amongst others) OSP Neroli and Barbershop; Valobra Tallow; Phoenix and Beau Denali; and...what's the Blue sheep/goat/yak stuff?

You mean Chinese made Blue's soap Goat milk and animal fats Shaving Soap from New Zealand?
Great stuff, lovely scent. Some say that "animal fats" mean dog fat but it's hard to say really, brush doesn't smell like wet dog at all and there is no fur in it.

I would be tempted to put wickhams 1912 and supersmooth in my top 10 [emoji6] they perform and smell amazing and you know you'll get a good reliable shave everytime .

Setting aside the Union Jack for a moment, are there any other soaps you enjoy from abroad Nick? In the USA you'd have to be a millionaire to try all the different artisan soaps that have popped up like so many mushrooms in the past few years. :eek: Some are good, some are not so good and a few are simply spectacular.
