p.b said:I don't like heavy razors and I've never been impressed by an Injector so why did I sign-up to this pass-around?
it exists and I don't like to feel I've missed out(!); and more importantly
every so often I like to try things I know I dislike to see if my tastes have changed.
I'm very pleased to say that this razor now joins Brussel sprouts, Gin & Tonic and (some) Vetiver soaps in the 'glad I tried it again, 'cos now I like it' category.
It's an outstandingly smooth razor and with the most aggressive head with three passes (W/X/ATG) I achieved an effortlessly, enjoyably smooth shaves. The sixth shave was a little rough but I suspect the blade was well past it's best by then (I only get 5 shaves from a Feather Pro AC blade) but every shave prior to that was so, so smooth.
I do agree with Andreas though: it's far too heavy and I'd like some features on the handle to improve grip. If the handle were made from Aluminium or hollow (like the One Blade) then I'd buy one in a heart beat. It was that good, and I've never thought that about any injector I've tried so far. I don;t think an all aluminum razor would work because the head mechanism would wear too much and too quickly.
Thanks to the gents that made this pass-around happen and this goes to prove that one should try things one doesn't like - you never know...
I'm still yet to try mine, even though I've owned it for 3/4 months I'm going to have to give it a go, I'll post my thoughts in here. More aggressive plate could be interesting if my experience is similar to those who have already shared their thoughts on the various forums!Though not in the lending pool , i have used the Supply. I have a strong beard and needed
to use a 3 dot plate. Like Mr Bigmem , found Personna not very effective though I suffered
no mishaps. Historically have used an NOS Schick to good effect.
Today, having loaded a Schick [Chick] from the dispenser with no problems, I had a really
smooth and comfortable Shave, with a great all round finish. My advice is do not faff with mild
plate, go to a 3 dot and use a Schick.
As a matter of interest I have been in contact with Supply, and Patrick says by popular request they are investigating the possibility of producing a more aggressive plate.
How on earth can you resist trying out a new Razor ASAP confounds me, and probably a few more . Yep you aren't the first to say it... I've only got 4/5 I haven't tried yet left! How on earth can you resist trying out a new Razor ASAP confounds me, and probably a few more . Hope it goes well.
Leave the L1 to last, it is very mild.Yep you aren't the first to say it... I've only got 4/5 I haven't tried yet left!
It's mainly because I signed up to a number of pass arounds and that ended up being pretty much the whole back end of 2016 spent trying pass around razors and a few razors sent by a couple of friends.
Main ones to try in my collection are the Supply Edge, Schick L1 and PAL Injectomatic. I do look forward to giving them a go, it keeps leaving me with something to look forward to rather than doing it in quick succession!
Great write up, thank you.The Single Edge will be on its way to @Glen_Lee soon so, thought I'd post my thought here before it gets on its way:
First impressions:
Love the weight & the industrial look. It is nicely finished too. No obvious machining errors, marks or other nasties. Strange loading mechanism - you don't really need to "inject" but I did and it worked fine with the Chick injector.
Looking forward to the shave later.. 2 days growth to #3 plate to start with.
Absolutely superb... Love it...
First go straight in at the deep end - #3 plate..
It is aggressive, think Schick E or PAL Adjustable opened up... But it is smooth and no concerns about it biting....
I was concerned about the weight, I was concerned about the [lack of] grip. But I need not have worried. It behaved exactly like an Injector should. Yes, it is heavier than any other Injector, but it is still nimble enough to whizz around the fizog. No issue with the grip, no fear that I could loose it.
Superb close and smooth shave with next to no irritation or AS sting.
Now for the bad points...
I don't think it needs to be an injector.. :scratchhead:
A simple straight forward clamping design like the (Mongoose et al..) would be sufficient. Would this cut down on weight? Manufacturing costs? Unsure...
But it works and a superb shave is the result.
Second shave in, again with the #3 plate and the Chick...
Not as good as yesterday with only 1 days growth so maybe the #3 is a little much for a daily shave...
Still, I like the the feel of the razor, the grip is super, manoeuvrability is great too. The killer feature could be the use of AC blades without injecting... Will be investigated soon

Shave off:
Schick N2 with NOS Schick Twin VS Supply Single Edge.
Right side of face with Supply, left side with Schick.
Simply to say the Supply really does hold it own against this favourite of injectors, both sides silky smooth, a couple of tiny weepers on both side, but soon cleared with the Alum. Not a great deal of sting, just a little tingle..
One thing I am now picking up on is the feel of the blade stops on the Supply... You can feel them during the shave, it's not unpleasant by any means - they are just THERE. These need to be modified IMO as they are huge in comparison to the Schick..
Damn fine razor this...
Much smoother shave with the #2 plate, very similar result though as the #3. I think with a thicker, more protective tallow lather the number 3 would be a good daily shave.
Another go with the #2 tomorrow, but will probably try a cut down AC blade to how that works...
At the moment I am on the buying fence @ £100+, I'd probably gamble at a lesser price though...

Was expecting great things from this Razor/Blade combo, but no, it wasn't great. Smooth, but fairly inefficient. 3 passes for a decent presentable shave, but I can feel plenty of stubble.. In the baldes defence it has sat on the shelf in the bathroom since November...
Next will be a run out with the NOS Schick Krona, then it will be time to move it on...

Wow, this razor loves the Krona Edge!!!
Proper smooth as silk and BBS pretty all over. A little AS, but I expected more.
This is one superb shaver, the only problem being the NOS blades are far better than the current available blades. Just as well I have a good stash!
Many thanks to @riverrun and @Blademonkey for the pass around
A little delayed, but here is...
Supply Provision Single Edge V1 - My final verdict
Let's start with the looks of the razor: overall it's quite a handsome beast. I like the lines and the finish is quite good. I still think the top looks better than the bottom, but I could say the same about most injectors. However, I believe the razor would look better without the recessed bit on the bottom side. See one of my previous posts.
The size of the razor is very good. It's a bit shorter than my J and N type Schicks and a bit longer than the Bunny V3, but overall it's the shape of a proper injector razor. The Single Edge takes normal injector blades and not Feather AC style blades, which makes the head a decent width. In my opinion all heads for Feather AC blades are too wide.
Although I got used to the weight of the razor, I still feel it's too heavy for an injector. That's my own very personal opinion and other may like the heft. The choice of stainless steel is a bad one for this razor. It makes it too heavy and it also causes it looks to be compromised. May I suggest titanium, aluminium or (dare I say it? - I dare!) zinc alloy as better materials for this razor?
Let's look at the three plates supplied with the razor. The thing I like about them is that they actually make a difference. The plates on the Bunny V3 are all very similar, which is not a problem as they are all perfect for me. The 'Classic' plate is the one for me. It gives comfortable yet close shaves. The 'Mild' plate on the Single edge is Mild, too mild for my taste and the 'Aggressive' plate is markedly more direct while not improving the closeness of the shave. Personally I'd be happy with the 'Classic' plate only, but I can see that some guys might want a choice and the Single Edge gives you that. Who's idea was it to put the dots indicating which plate you are using on the inside of the head? Really? WTF? Whoever came up with this - read [emoji670]this book..
Changing plates is easier with the Bunny V3, but it's no a big issue. The screw is on the big side and partly obscured by the head. The design of the head is interesting though. It's the only injector I know where you can change blades without using a blade magazine. A real bonus if you want to use cut to size Feather AC blades.
Changing blades was a bit of an issue. Using a Chinese Schick magazine I had slight problems with the new blade not always ejecting the old one and being inserted above the blade already in the head. This is not good and seems to be a well known problem of this razor. Allegedly this has been fixed in the latest version of the razor. Amazingly I had no problems with Personna blades and their crappy plastic magazines.
The choice of blades is good, but for some reason twin blades won't work. Pity. My recommendation for this razor are definitely Personna blades. No problems injecting them and they were just as good as the Schicks for me in this razor. This is a big plus!
The most important aspect of a razor is of course how well it shaves. And the Single Edge doesn't disappoint. It gives easy and close shaves. For some reason it did struggle a bit with my difficult area just underneath the jawline. I always struggle there, but injectors normally work better for me, except this one. So while the shaves were not up there with the best, the results were certainly better than average. If this was the first injector razor I ever tried, I'd be mightily impressed. Unfortunately (for the Single Edge, fortunately for me) I have a Bunny V3 at my disposal and the Single Edge can't compete. Overall this is a very competent shaver and if you're after a modern injector razor I'd recommend it without hesitation.
Would I buy one? No. It's too heavy for my taste and the design of the underside of the razor would annoy me every time I'd use it. It would see little action as I'd prefer to use the Bunny V3 or my vintage Schick N3.
It's an interesting razor though and some will like the idea of a stainless steel injector and if you do, you can give this razor a go and join the pass around.
Thanks to @Blademonkey for making this pass around possible.
Thanks for checkin in.The razor has arrived safely. Thank you @rowlers - I look forward to giving a really good go
