Philips OneBlade - The shaver that's not a shaver....

This article explores the design process and reasoning behind this offering from Phillips. It's interesting enough from an engineering perspective, but perhaps more for the insight it gives into the mindset of young men when it comes to grooming. As a regular DE shaver and, it has to be said, not a young man, I don't get it.

Hmmmm, a unit which will ' communicate ' with the user eh. To me that would have previously sounded more like a mobile 'phone. Still, it's nice to know that my razor blade is a ' replacement element or a consumable '. And I used to be under the illusion I spoke English.

i saw it at walmart was not impressed at all. Sure the idea is nice, but in the end they took the blade style used in wahl dog groomers and put a spiffier handle style to it.

It says nothing good to me, other then that they used a shortened 3 hole style de blade instead of those damned rotary propeller systems. SO in a way it may reduce ingrown hairs and tugging hair out by the root..

But in the long term, it don't speak to me at all.
