Pre shave

Looking forward to trying. I imagine you prefer that the product is used without any other pre-shave items...i.e. Noxzema or oil etc. My own current pre-shave formula varies a bit but is rather comprehensive so it'll be a far better test to just use yours with nothing added.

Hi stan this stuff is slick, real slick it is designed with straight razors in mind. Definitely use this as a single pre-shave. Its not the same scent profile as icoloniali aftershave balm (which is divine) but has a nice woody and citrus blend.

Nishy, is this designed to be used instead of lather like Village barber or as well as lather?

Looking forward to trying it.
I have nearly 2 weeks worth of growth to remove with my Kai Captain.
It will be a good test.

Nice! it's always good taking a few weeks growth off. Its to be used with lather I apply it once, five minutes before applying lather to the face. Some like to re-apply between passes all personal choice.

From my personal trials, it's really slick so applied once it's more than enough. Then lather.

Royal Mail extended the period of anticipation here....didn't arrive today. But all comes to he who waits.

What DID turn up (along with a certain badger based application device of German descent) was 100ml of green Proraso pre (post?) shave http://www.shaving.ie/pre-shave/

I can immediately see why others have noted distinct similarity to Noxzema...feels much the same - both on the fingers and on the phyzog. Smells similar. Ingredients list isn't identical but many shared items. But it has to be said you get bucket loads of Nox compared to the Proraso...pound for pound the Nox wins hands down. And the shave itself didn't provide a vast improvement with the Proraso....in fact I'm not sure I notices ANY difference.

Will be very interested to try Nishy's product. I wonder if you'll be marketing it on a small scale sort of way? Would imagine bods would be happy to cough up for a decent and interesting home produced bit of gear. Knowing how much my Frankenoil costs (not a lot) compared to the tiny bottles of oil you see in the specialist shaving sites I'd imagine you wouldn't have to charge a fortune to cover costs and make a little something on top.

Will report safe receipt ASAP.

Hi stan, scent was the only element that i found differentiated noxema from proraso, I used to love the proraso pre (green) but soaps I currently use and improvement in my lather prep has made it redundant.

Lets see how Melissa is perceived, I could produce a few once its perfected and of course without the intention of flossing anyone.

Came back into the office today and mine was waiting for me.

Smells really nice.

Will give it a go tonight.
Frist shave in 2 weeks!
