My next challenge!
This is going to be interesting I think! Some serious corrosion on the handle, in fact a bit is missing, so my thinking at the moment is to shorten the handle, thus cutting off the rotten bit! Stay tuned!

Well. got a bit more up close and personal with this project today. Just thought I'd share some close ups of the before condition.

WARNING!! If you've just eaten you may want to look away!!!

Pretty disgusting I'm sure you'll agree!! So bad in fact I'm going to give it a dam good scrub before it goes anywhere near the ultrasonic cleaner!!

That rather grotty adjuster knob is now polished, I'd rather have avoided this but the pitting was too bad so something needed to be done.

The doors have been thoroughly polished now :)

Great thread!.As you only cut a small bit off the part of the handle that was hidden under the adjuster ring,it should be plain sailing now,as the spring retaining 'plate' is quite low down inside the handle on the SA's,so it should all work out quite well!.Instead of a 109 SA,you will now be the proud owner of the only 107 SA in the world!...;)
